Ivana D. Romero, Esq.

Partner

Ivana Romero is a Partner in Curbelo and Romero, P.A. Since her youth, Ms. Romero has always shared interest in the legal field. Prior to her law degree, she was part of the Police Explorer Program and the Class Leader at Coral Reef Senior High School's Legal Academy Magnet Program. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and minored in Philosophy and Criminal Justice. Her interest in moral and justice always drove her to law.However, growing up, her biggest drive was her older brother, who is on the autism spectrum, and was the biggest factor who later determined her greatest passion in life. Ms. Romero attended law school at Saint Thomas University School of Law. She graduated the year of 2020 with her Juris Doctor Degree. However, during her time in law school, Ms. Romero was a member of the Elder Law Society, member of the Honors Organization in Law Review, and was the Vice President of Internal Affairs of honors organization in Moot Court. She also accomplished a Business Law Certificate and became Licensed to practice law in Florida in 2020.Following her oath ceremony, Ms. Romero has dedicated her legal work to advocate and service those in the Special Needs community. She hopes to provide as much help to Guardians and families in the special needs community and continue to support their voice in society.Ms. Romero is fluent in Spanish, and a member in good standing of the Florida Bar.

Yunis Curbelo, Esq.

Partner

Yunis Curbelo is a Partner at Curbelo and Romero, P.A. Prior to obtaining her law degree, she graduated with honors designation of magna cum laude from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Subsequently, she earned her Paralegal Certificate at the University of Miami and worked as a Paralegal from 2014 until 2017. As a Paralegal she managed entire case files and assisted with all aspects of civil litigation from inception through appeal.Realizing advocating was her passion, Ms. Curbelo earned her Juris Doctor Degree with the honors designation of magna cum laude from Saint Thomas University School of Law in 2020. During law school, Ms. Curbelo became a member of the honors organization, the St. Thomas Trial Team. In 2018, she advocated at the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law’s Trial Advocacy Competition wherein she, along with her team, won First Place at Regionals and Nationals, competing against school such as, UCLA Law, Brooklyn Law, and WashU Law.As a result, she was honored with the Order of the Barristers, which is a national law school organization that recognizes students for their achievement in Moot Court and Mock Trial. Additionally, Ms. Curbelo was the President of the Cuban American Board Association, Student Chapter of St. Thomas, and a member of the Journal of Complex Litigation.Ms. Curbelo is fluent in Spanish, and a member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
